Reclaimed Floor & Quarry Tiles for East Sussex

Reclaimed Floor & Quarry Tiles for East SussexEast Sussex Reclaimed Quarry Tiles

Authentic Reclamation is based on the Kent and Sussex border, about 10 miles south of Tunbridge Wells and supplies reclaimed building materials to the whole of the South East including Kent, South London, West & East Sussex & Surrey.

We stock floor tiles of many different varieties. Our most popular floor tile is a traditional English quarry tile, as seen above here and taken from our yard. Quarry tiles have been hand-made since Georgian times. However, the majority of the tiles that are salvaged nowadays are Victorian or later.

The most common size are 6 inches by 6 inches, but we also get batches that are 8 by 8 and some are 9 by 9. The tiles in the above picture are a batch of hand-made Victorian Quarry English tiles and are 6 by 6.

Our major product lines are reclaimed bricks, roof tiles, oak beams, wooden flooring, quarry tiles and York stone. However, if it is a period look you are looking for in any building project we can provide all the building materials needed. We also stock original Victorian fireplaces, antique sanitary ware, walling stone, stone steps and coping and cobbles as well as railway sleepers (reclaimed and new), railings and a range of architectural antiques and artifacts.

Reclaimed Floor & Quarry Tiles for East SussexHandmade French Floor tiles

We also import reclaimed hand-made Napoleonic French floor tiles as an alternative to an English quarry tile. Typically a softer orange than a traditional English quarry, the French quarry tiles also tend to have a softer edge when compared with an English quarry tile. From the picture you can see that reclaimed hand-made French tiles do come in a hexagonal shape as well.

Staffordshire Blue Quarry Tiles

We also stock Staffordshire Blue quarry tiles as shown in the picture. Apart from their characteristic blue colour, these tiles are similar to terracotta quarry tiles and vary in size from 6 inches by 6 inches up to 9 inches by 9 inches and on rare occasions larger. Again, the tiles are hand-made and typically date from the Victorian era.

Reclaimed Victorian Patterned Floor Tiles

Occasionally we are offered patterned floor tiles. The picture shows a floor that was lifted during the renovation of a town house in Kensington. The gallery below shows another example of a pattern floor that was salvaged during the renovation of a property in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
