16th November – Reclaimed Authentic Japanese Antiques in the Spotlight
Everyone wants to have an interior that is full of character and culture, these reclaimed authentic Japanese antiques and artefacts are exactly that!
Over the last week, we have had a fantastic selection of authentic Japanese pieces arrive at our reclamation yard in East Sussex. That’s why we thought we’d pick a few of our favourites to put in the spotlight and show off this week.

AUTHENTIC JAPANESE TEA BOX

This lovely traditional tea box is a beautiful addition to any home. Know in Japan as a Chabako, this traditional Japanese hand-made box is made out of Japanese Cedar and has been used to preserve and transport tea leaves since the late Edo period (1800s). This tea box has a deep green print with some Japanese symbols, matched with the ‘worn’ aesthetic of the box makes this a no brainer.

This wonderful collection of brass kettles are a functional and aesthetic addition to any interior. These brass made kettles would look perfect alongside the traditional tea box. There are three of these kettles available for purchasing all with a unique style and shape.

This authentic Japanese oak chest is a lovely addition to any room in need of some extra storage. Thie ‘worn’ look of the chest oozes character and the build of the chest is very good quality. This could be a chest that you would give a new lease of life to and restore or leave in its current state, full of personality.
